It’s a Love/Hate Relationship

Wow. Honestly, there is nothing else to say about the premiere tonight. That’s it. Blog over…… just kidding. Tonight we experienced the most blatant expression of the romance that millions have been waiting for over the past four years. Booth told Brennan that he loves her…in a strictly “professional thatta girl way”. Yep, the dreams of millions have been fulfilled. Might as well end the show here. Game over.

Ok, so it wasn’t as we imagined it. It wasn’t sweet or romantic or really anything. It was complete stunt pulled by the writers and Hart Hanson. So: point taken. The show is not about Booth and Brennan’s will they/won’t they dance. At least, it’s not intended to be entirely about that. Here’s what else happened in the season 5 premiere.

1. We discovered that Booth recovered almost entirely from his brain surgery and is feeling 110% better. Although he forgot what socks he wears and that he hates clowns. Other than that he is 110% fine. (Except for that whole in-love-with-Bones thingy.)

2. Absolutely nothing happened with Angela and Hodgins. Are they over? It’s honestly hard to tell simply based on the premiere episode which featured them individually about 2.5 scenes and together approximately 2.1 scenes. Which equals out to be not much.

3. Sweets is still around and still very perceptive. But I have to say that I’m a little angry at him for convincing Booth that his feelings were all symptoms of his brain surgery. But he redeemed himself when he was acting very protective of Brennan, which I appreciated.

4. Cyndi Lauper plays an amazing psychic (this is possibly because she naturally looks like a psychic). Everything Avalon said about Bones and Booth was true. My favorite scene was when Bones was at Avalon’s house and Avalon read her cards. It was one of the few times we get to see Brennan emotional and I love it.

So I have this horrible feeling that next week everything will be “back to normal” and that Booth and Bones will once again retreat to their “platonicy, professional” love. But if this premiere is all I have to hold onto, it’s still pretty fulfilling. What do you think?

Until next week :)

Special Premiere Mega-Post

Bones-ep501_Sc07_0273Hey guys! I’m sure that you are very well aware that tomorrow night is the Season 5 finale of Bones! It will be on FOX at 8 ET. So don’t forget! This post includes news about the premiere, speculation on the season and some Twitter info on some cast members. Plus, lots of pictures!

———————————

PREMIERE NEWS (SPOILERS!!!)

The premiere tomorrow night will reportedly begin after Booth & Brennan have been separated for 6 weeks. Brennan went away on a inconveniently timed dig while Booth recovers from brain surgery. A psychic friend (Cyndi Lauper) believes that there are dead bodies buried under a fountain. Booth & Brennan investigate. Check out Searching Bones for moreBones-ep501_Sc01_0437 spoilers PLUS photos from the premiere!

GENERAL SEASON NEWS

Michael Ausiello had a discussion with Hart Hanson in which he asked about possible love interests for Angela. Although the questions were valid, Mr. Hanson didn’t really give ANY information. Below is the transcript from EW.com.

Question: Spill it already! What do you know about the identity of Angela’s lover onBones? —Sarah P.
Ausiello:
You’d be proud of me. I took all your questions/concerns about Angela’s mystery lover directly to series creator Hart Hanson. The transcript of that interrogation conversation is below:

Who will Angela break her vow of celibacy with?
HART HANSON: I’m not telling.

Can you at least rule someone out?
HANSON: Let’s see… who would I be willing to rule out of the equation… Let me think… No, I shouldn’t rule anyone out. That would be foolish of me.

Can you at least rule out Booth?
HANSON: I’m not going to rule out Booth. Are you kidding?

Is Angela’s choice of sex partners connected to the huge fight she and Brennan have?
HANSON: I’m not saying they aren’t connected. There’s a reason both those things happen in the same episode. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a story reason.

Someone scores major points for trying!

GUEST STAR NEWS

In the premiere, Cyndi Lauper will guest star as Angela’s psychic who helps out with a case. There’s also some rumors floating about that Brennan (Emily Deschanel)’s real life sister Zooey may guest star on the show this season as a member of Brennan’s family. Keep your eyes open!

FUN INFO

Some of the Bones cast members (Stephen Fry, Eric Millegan) , along with Hart Hanson are on Twitter. TJ Thyne posted this tweet a couple weeks ago “Just finishing wardrobe. Whole cast shooting a very cool promo all day! Dancing and everything. Oh yeah, I said dancing!! :-)

Here’s the promo he was talking about:

New promo released!

FOX released a new promo of the Season 5 premiere today. The premiere airs September 17th at 8pm on FOX. You can watch the 30 sec promo HERE. If you’re interested in purchasing the Season 4 DVDs they’re available for pre-order on Amazon.com and are officially released October 6th. And catch up before the season premiere by watching the last 5 episodes from last season on Hulu. Stay tuned for more news leading up to the premiere.

Bones snubbed by the Emmys!

Unfortunatly, Bones has been shafted by the Emmy awards…again. The show ended up with one nomination this year:

Outstanding Art Direction For A Single-Camera Series
Bones • The Hero In The Hold • FOX • 20th Century Fox Television
Michael Mayer, Production Designer
Gregory S. Richman, Art Director
Kimberly Wannop, Set Decorator

Congrats to these lucky nominees, but I’m a little upset that there were no acting nominations. This year there were some great guest stars and awesome acting by the regulars. Maybe next year. In the mean time, great news: Bones has been renewed for at least the next 2 seasons! So at least 2 more years of chances for Emmy nominations for Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz. Try to make it the next month or so before the premiere watching reruns on TNT and FOX.

OMG

If you still haven’t caught last week’s episode: SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading now and head to Hulu to check it out. For all of you in the know, what do you think? I caught up on Thursday nights episode on Friday while babysitting and I was so shocked. Seriously, the tension between Booth and Brennen is at an all-time high and according to the previews for next week, it will finally be resolved! But are you concerned with the direction of the show once “the act” occurs? Well Entertainment Weekly discussed that with Bones and Booth this week. I’m still a little unsure of what will actually happen and how much of the previews are simply a tease. But I didn’t see the twist in last week’s episode so, who knows. Was anyone else thrown off by Booth’s sudden brain tumor? Seemed a little rushed to me and maybe a little disconnected from the plot but it did lead to some great Booth & Bones convos.

Enjoy your week and try to keep from thinking about what MIGHT happen on Thursday night!

Check Back Later

Later today I will post a review of last night’s episode. So check back later!

The Premiere-Hour One

So the premiere just ended and I have to say that it was good to have Bones back. Here’s my recap/opinion for Hour 1. I broke it down by hour because there was a natural end to the 1st before the second. Hour 2 will be up later tonight or early tomorrow depending on how quickly I write the paper I have to.

HOUR 1

Angela, Hodgins, and Graysen

Whoa. Angela’s husband is hot! He is charming, attractive, sensitive, and every other redeeming quality. But, he isn’t Hodgins! When Angela first kissed him, I kept waiting for her to wake up but she never did. Quite a hello/goodbye kiss. If I were Hodgins, I’d feel a little insecure about it. But, it did end happily after he finally agreed to the divorce. But, I feel like this won’t be the end of his invasion of Angela & Hodgins’ life.

Bones, Booth, and their British Twins

The dynamic between these four is amazing. Booth and Bones find a pair that supposedly are their British counterparts, but Ian and Pritch don’t even seem to like each other that much. Love gone bad? . Will Bones and Booth realize that they have something “special”? Booth actually tells Bones that she is “special”! How awesome is that? And decided not to sleep with Ian because of Booth. Not that we haven’t seen these feelings before, but it’s good to see them again! Any kind of progress is good progress in the case of Booth & Bones.

TO BE CONTINUED…
